At heart, opposition to CIR is based on the belief that the population is too stupid to make decisions for themselves. (But not, paradoxically, too stupid to elect others to make their decisions for them.) Of course it is never quite put this way; usually something like, 'the electorate doesn't have the experience or the time or the guidance of experts etcetera'. Of course we, collectively, have all the experience of those we choose to represent us and we have all the expert advice we need to make fair and wise decisions. CIR Australia readily acknowledges that our country is as well and honestly governed as any in the world. We also acknowledge that our parliamentarians are, by and large, a pretty decent and industrious lot. But they too can be stupid as we show hereunder. Some of this will make you laugh and some of it will make you weep. Under Construction
